Viral infections have been on the rise for the past decades. We discussed how the COVID-19 pandemic together with the already existing viral infections impacted the African continent. Finally, various recommendations have been duly presented in order to ultimately decrease the mortality and morbidity among African populations, especially with the presence of detrimental but treatable and preventable viral infections amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
